Get ready to clear your calendar, gamers, because Nintendo’s Switch 2 lineup for spring 2026 is shaping up to be an absolute powerhouse. But here’s where it gets controversial: with so many titles vying for attention, can any of them truly stand out? Let’s dive into the details and find out.
Published on February 3, 2026, at 10:00 AM EST, this preview is your ticket to the future of gaming. Nintendo recently pulled back the curtain on a slew of Switch 2 games, and we’ve got the inside scoop on everything we got our hands on. From chaotic sports games to innovative expansions, this lineup has something for everyone—but will it live up to the hype?
Kicking things off with a bang, we started with Mario Tennis Fever, the Switch 2-exclusive sports game launching on February 12. This game is pure chaos in the best way possible. During our 30-minute playtest, we experimented with a variety of characters and rackets, each equipped with a unique Fever Shot ability. These abilities turn a standard tennis match into a wild battleground, complete with tornadoes, blizzards, and banana peels. Trust us, it’s as fun as it sounds—and yes, Team Polygon dominated all four doubles matches. Sorry, GameSpot and Tom’s Guide! For a deeper dive, check out our full preview here.
And this is the part most people miss: Meetup in Bellabel Park, the upcoming expansion for Super Mario Bros. Wonder, isn’t just more levels. Launching on March 26 alongside the Switch 2 edition, it’s a collection of minigames that feels more like Mario Party than a traditional platformer. In the segment we played, teamwork and rivalry took center stage, with challenges that forced us to either collaborate or compete. Unfortunately, Team Polygon didn’t fare as well here—but that’s part of the fun, right? For more details, read our preview here.
After surviving the minigame madness, we split up to explore more titles. My colleague Giovanni Colantonio braved the Virtual Boy revival, available on February 17, and emerged with a mixed review: “It’s disorienting, the games stink, and I left with back pain—but that’s exactly what I wanted.” Curious? Read his full thoughts here.
Meanwhile, I dove into Capcom’s upcoming Switch 2 releases. Resident Evil Requiem gave me a quick scare (one zombie was enough for me), but Pragmata stole the show. This sci-fi action game is a jaw-dropping experience, and I played its demo twice just to soak it all in. Launching on April 24, it’s easily my most anticipated title of the season. Find out why here. (And yes, it’s also coming to PlayStation 5, Windows PC, and Xbox Series X.)
Here’s the burning question: Can Nintendo keep this momentum going for the rest of 2026? With titles like Pokémon Pokopia (March 5), Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream (April 16), Yoshi and the Mysterious Book, and Fire Emblem Fortune’s Weave on the horizon, the future looks bright—but only time will tell. For now, one thing’s certain: Nintendo’s spring slate is a force to be reckoned with. What’s your take? Are you hyped for these releases, or do you think Nintendo is spreading itself too thin? Let us know in the comments!
